KENSHO III

KENSHO created for the Image Issue of Design Fabric is a reflection of my thoughts on whether one’s gender qualifies as a defining factor of a human’s personality or the essence of their being. Raising certain questions such as: Is it simply social conditioning which pushes one to appear a certain way as a subconscious tribute to their gender? In a utopian world where non existed and gender equality prevailed, wouldn’t we be the exact same person with the same likes, hobbies, nature and dressing? Shouldn’t these form a larger part of who we are as a person and the choices we make, irrespective of our body parts? Through this work, I thus, focused on capturing what I feel, is the essence of my being, which brought me to the conclusion to the question posed to me in the brief, to capture self portraits of myself as a male in 2017.
